CQ rugby returns to Rugby Park

It was terrific to see Rugby Capricornia’s under-13 to under-17 back at RGS Rugby Park in Rockhampton this weekend for the first time in two years.

What was even better was to see teams from all over central Queensland taking part – Biloela, Gladstone, Capricorn Coast and Rockhampton. And a big shout out to Biloela, who has just joined this competition.

It was also great to see so many spectators – parents, siblings, grandparents and friends.

We will be seeing the Nogoa Red Claws from Emerald take part in this competition, but this weekend they played the Viking Cup in Proserpine, with teams from Mackay Juniors and Whitsunday.

You can see the commitment in this region as parents and players are prepared to travel hundreds of kilometres to play.

There was so much natural talent on that field, and we need to ensure we keep these players engaged and offer them as many opportunities as possible to play the game.

Don’t forget, Term 4 Rugby Skills session kicks off in Emerald tomorrow, and then in Rocky on Tuesday and Wednesday. You can download your booking form Rugby Skills Term 4 booking form.
